After moving to the Florida Keys, in 2016 I became a Hatha/Vinyasa Yoga teacher. I quickly discovered that I throughly enjoyed learning, practicing, teaching and sharing the yogic experience with my students, family and friends. Since then, I have expanded my teaching repertoire to include Ascension, Paddleboard and Kidding Around Childrens Yoga, Chakra Yoga - trained by Anodea Judith Phd., Let Your Yoga Dance - trained By creator Megha Nancy Buttenheim MA. As well as YogaBody teacher trainings in Trapeze Yoga, Gravity Yoga and Yoga Breathing Breath Coach - trained by creator Lucas Rockwood. I am also a Beginners Latin and Ballroom Dance Teacher and competitor and Ayurvedic Aroma Therapy, Reiki, Indian Head Massage and Sound Therapy Practitioner.
By far, my greatest inspiration is my teacher Lucas Rockwood and his scientific approach to Yoga. I enjoy sharing practical knowledge, techniques and movements that my students can use and practice to stay fit and feel good throughout their lives. My yoga classes incorporate the best of what I have learned from all of the yogic practices that I have studied, as well as various dance, pilates and somatic movement techniques. My focus is on understanding fully integrated body motion, the brain and nervous system's role in movement, as well as meditation and breathing techniques. During my classes, I give my students lots of cues and information explaining the how in the why and the why in the how of our practice. I teach slow, conscious, safe, mindful movement that will help to re-train your brain, nervous system and body to move with more pain free ease. Let’s work together to increase and improve your spinal health, range of motion, strength, flexibility, posture, breathing and overall wellbeing.
My company ArtBodySoul Inc. offers classes in Art, Dance and various Yoga practices and techniques on land, air and sea, as well as custom wellness retreats in our private studio on the Gulf, in the beautiful Florida Keys.
Born in Montreal, Canada, I began as an Artist and Art Teacher, receiving my MFA in 2001 from the Maryland Institute College of Art. After traveling extensively through Canada, USA, Mexico, South America, the Caribbean and Europe, my interest in yoga began in 2007 while attending Hot Yoga classes while living in Dallas, Texas. With a background in dance, gymnastics, karate, tai chi, weight lifting and many other sports, yoga was a natural progression. Inspired by the mind, body, spirit connection and the overall health and wellness benefits of yoga, it become an important part of my life. My reoccurring lower back pain became manageable and soon, actually improved.
